Brigham City Temple

We were able to go with Lisa to the Brigham City Temple Open House in September.  This is the third temple open house we've been able to walk through since we've been married (all in Utah) but the first one that we've taken children.  Even though Berkley won't remember walking through the temple, it was neat to be able to talk to her about it and teach her a little bit about temples. 

The temple is small but absolutely beautiful and brought in so many aspects of the local culture, I loved walking through.  Berkley mostly loved wearing the slippers.  She didn't want to take them off afterward. 

The temple is right across the street from the historic tabernacle and they compliment each other perfectly. 


If you ask berkley what her favorite part was she'll say the fountains.  She also loved the bus ride. 

Peach Days

We kind of love Brigham City and we really love Peach Days.  Berkley hadn't been to a parade this year so I wanted to make it up there to watch the parade.  She had a lot of fun waving and getting candy.  At first she was afraid to go in the street to get the candy because we never let her go in the street without holding our hand.

After the parade we tried walking around the booths but it was way too crowded to navigate a double stroller around.  So we went to the food which was also way too crowded.  All I wanted was deep fried oreos but we didn't see any and we couldn't get around anywhere so we left.

We decided to eat at Maddox drive-in.  (Also the busiest I've ever seen it.)  And then, of course, we stopped at the Valcarce Farms road-side stand to get a half bushel of peaches.  Best peaches in the world.

We ate a ton, froze a bunch for smoothies, and I made some raspberry peach jam (with raspberries from our garden.)  So yummy!

Peach Days!

This year the Whitehead girls came up and we went to the parade!  Our friends Janel and Marshall came too.  Here's Berkley watching the beginning of the parade.

It was her naptime so I figured she could just sleep through the parade.  Apparently I haven't been to a parade in several years.  Imagine my surprise when the firetrucks came with sirens blazing and horns honking.  This is what happened.

I covered her ears the best I could.  And when the loud parts were over, she ended up like this.

That lasted until some cowboys came and started shooting guns right by us.  Well, at least now I know that parades are LOUD and to plan accordingly.

On the other hand, it was super cute to watch Saige and Marshall (who are both 3) get excited about the trucks, floats, and candy!

After they went home, Berkley and I browsed the vendors looking for new craft ideas.  We saw some good ones!  It made me want a vinyl machine!  We didn't make it to the car show this year though... maybe next time.

On A Sunday Afternoon

A couple weeks ago it was nice enough to go on a family walk.  We ended up at the Brigham City tabernacle and took a few pictures.  It's such a beautiful building and it will be amazing when there is a temple across the street from it!
