Mom Car

For the past while I've been driving this:

Pretty sweet right?  Well, here's the thing.  The A/C doesn't work, not all of the doors lock, the heat sort of works but doesn't blow where you want it to, the radio only works half the time, it has a lot of miles so it's constantly needing work done, the passenger door is white, and it gets terrible gas mileage.  Zack's little GTI gets fabulous gas mileage so if we go a long distance we'd rather drive his little car but we can hardly fit anything in it!  Plus, try buckling a carseat in the back of a 2-door car.  Not an easy task. 

So we went out on a limb and bought this little beauty:

Sorry it's already dirty in these pics... we live by a rock quarry so dust is inevitable... that may be changing very soon though.

Anyway, about the car.  It's perfect.  It's a 2007, has 36,000 miles and we got an AMAZING deal on it!  They will also be adding tint next week.
Some things I love about it:
-So easy to get Berkley in and out
-Heated leather seats (ever experienced a Utah winter?)
-The turbo-charged engine is SUPER fast (200hp)
-It's just way smooth and I get so excited every time I drive it

Are there nicer, more expensive cars out there? Most definitely.  But I couldn't be happier to have a nice, reliable car that will last us a long time. 

Now does anyone want to buy a jeep?

A New Endeavor

Everyone always asks me where I get Berkley's bows.  Well, I make them.  Besides that, I've been making all sorts of other crafts lately so I've decided to open up my own etsy shop.  I thought it would be a fun new hobby.  To start out, I've listed some cute alligator clips:

Peach Days!

This year the Whitehead girls came up and we went to the parade!  Our friends Janel and Marshall came too.  Here's Berkley watching the beginning of the parade.

It was her naptime so I figured she could just sleep through the parade.  Apparently I haven't been to a parade in several years.  Imagine my surprise when the firetrucks came with sirens blazing and horns honking.  This is what happened.

I covered her ears the best I could.  And when the loud parts were over, she ended up like this.

That lasted until some cowboys came and started shooting guns right by us.  Well, at least now I know that parades are LOUD and to plan accordingly.

On the other hand, it was super cute to watch Saige and Marshall (who are both 3) get excited about the trucks, floats, and candy!

After they went home, Berkley and I browsed the vendors looking for new craft ideas.  We saw some good ones!  It made me want a vinyl machine!  We didn't make it to the car show this year though... maybe next time.

Domestic Success

I've never made real bread before.  Sure I've made banana and zucchini, those are easy.  Heck, I've even made rolls. But I've always been intimidated by a real, yeast bread.

So the other day Zack told me that a lady at work was bringing some huckleberry jam and asked if I could make some good, homemade bread for him to bring also.  I was nervous but excited for a challenge.  I wouldn't be so nervous if all of his colleagues weren't going to try it.  It was my first time and I didn't want to send gross bread to work with him.

Well I'm pleased to say that it turned out just fine and everyone at Out of the Woods loved it and it was gone within minutes!  Maybe I'll do it again sometime... maybe.
