Park City
My parents needed to use a week of their timeshare so my Mom booked a week in May at a condo in Park City. I took the girls up for one night and we had a blast with all the Woodbury/Morby girls. We chatted, watched HP, ate yummy food (the red banjo has become a Park City must, plus I discovered Kneader's which is heavenly!), shopped till we dropped (literally), and played in the pool (Berkley's favorite part). The girls were such good sports being dragged from store to store. Peyton was 6 weeks old and had just started smiling. The only pictures I took were at the pool. It took Berkley a while to work up the courage to get off the steps but once she did we couldn't get her out of that water!

Deja Vu?
People are always telling me that Peyton looks just like Berkley. I agree. Sometimes I'll look at Peyton sleeping in the same crib Berkley used to sleep in, wrapped in one of the same blankets Berkley used and it feels like I've seen that image before. Or she'll do a facial expression and a whole flood of memories will come to me because Berkley used to make the same face.
Peyton is definitely different though and I think as time goes on she'll become more herself and less mini Berkley but we'll see. I've taken the liberty of putting some of the girls' baby pictures side by side for comparison. So here are a few from the first six weeks. Berkley is always on the left and Peyton on the right:

So what do you think? Definitely sisters?

1 Month
Peyton turned one month old on April 27th. With Berkley I took pictures next to her purple monkey each month. Since that monkey is her best friend and there is no way she wants to share it with Peyton, I'm taking Peyton's pictures next to Penny, her cute pig. So here's one month:

I personally don't think any newborn is easy but Peyton is definitely easier than Berkley was. She's a good eater, fairly good sleeper, and just calm and easy going.
Peyton has filled out a lot over the past month. Getting some meat on her bones and chub in her cheeks. Her newborn clothes are getting a little too snug and she's moved up to size 1 diapers. (At 6 days old she was back up to her birth weight, 6 lbs 12 oz. At her 2 week checkup she was up to 7 lbs 5 oz and 20 inches.)
I hate how fast babies grow. The only thing that makes it ok is that it's so fun to watch them get to new milestones. Her big milestone this month was being able to focus on objects with her eyes. I love the feeling when she looks into my eyes and just stares and I know she can see me. Next month I'm looking forward to smiling and sleeping through the night (fingers crossed.) I did happen to capture a picture of a fleeting sleep smile. I love all the faces babies make in their sleep, such a wide range of emotions already.

Peyton's cord finally fell off when she was two weeks old which meant it was time for her first bath. She seemed to enjoy it and didn't cry too much when she got out. Berkley loved helping with the bath. She made sure to give her plenty of bath toys.

At 3 weeks old Peyton slept 5-6 hours straight for 3 nights in a row. It was wonderful. Too bad she didn't keep it up.
She also got herself kicked out of our bedroom at 3 weeks because she is SO grunty. I may have made that word up but it's true. Even when she's sound asleep she's grunting. Zack and I couldn't take it anymore so off to her own room she went. It's much better that way.
Also at 3 weeks we started letting her cry herself to sleep. It's so hard at first but she did great. On average she would cry for 5-10 minutes, stare into space for a while, then fall asleep. I hate letting her cry but it's so nice when they're older to be able to put them in their crib and they just go to sleep on their own. She even falls asleep without her binky most of the time.

Peyton has spent lots of time with family members this month. They adore her. Some of them have started giving her the nickname PJ.

I feel a little bit guilty because Peyton is already the neglected second child. Berkley was always dressed in cute outfits with matching bows in her hair. If she spit up and needed a new outfit, she also got a new bow. I'm so lazy with Peyton that I usually just let her wear sleepers and I've only put headbands on her a couple times to take pictures. I also feel like it's impossible to shower and get dressed, keep the house clean, AND make dinner all in one day. Hopefully when we establish a schedule and get a little more sleep at night I'll be able to do all of that and put cute bows on Peyton.
And here are bunch of pictures from the past month. You can never take too many right?

I just can't describe the love a parent feels when they look at their sleeping child. They're just so peaceful and beautiful and perfect.

I thought Berkley had a lot of hair when she was born. Peyton has more. It's lighter than Berkley's was though.

Berkley's eyes were a dark grey-blue when she was born and it took a while for them to turn brown. Peyton's are also grey-blue. Maybe it's my imagination but they seem to be getting lighter. Don't get me wrong, I love Berkley's big brown eyes but I'd be lying if I said I didn't hope Peyton's stayed blue like her Mom's.

Watch Out Argentina!
Because this guy is on his way.

Zack's youngest brother Carson left on April 25th to the Argentina, Salta mission. We're so proud of him and excited for him. This is most likely the only sibling either of us will send on a mission. (Unless one of my sisters decides to go, which we would fully support.) Here is Zack with Carson in front of the legendary purple van.

Peyton will be Berkley's size by the time he gets back...

We should've taken a picture of him with Berkley too. Oh well, too late now. See you in two years Carson!
