July 4th is my husbands favorite holiday. Fireworks, food, and family. Doesn't get much better than that. When nobody had any plans for the 4th we decided to invite our families over to our place for a nice BBQ. Zack smoked his world famous ribs (Ok maybe they aren't world famous yet but they are the best ribs you've ever had, guaranteed.) along with chicken thighs and every other side you're supposed to have at a BBQ. The food was great, the weather was great, and the company was great.
We didn't stay up for fireworks that evening (though our street put on quite a show thanks to the new firework law!) We did get to see a couple firework shows later in the month both at Weber State and from my parents front yard in Bountiful. Fireworks turned into Berkley's new favorite thing. For weeks afterward she kept saying, "Ahworks boom boom! Ahworks pitty! Ahworks youd!"

"Hi Cuck!"
I would apologize for my blog slacking lately but I'm not really sorry. I've been spending all my time this summer either having fun or working so I just haven't blogged. Since summer is now ending and school has started I may have time to post about all the fun things we've been up to.
Today I'd like to share a few pictures from the end of June. I thought I'd be a cool mom and show Berkley how to run through the sprinkler since the Utah heat was hitting us full force. She, however, wanted nothing to do with it. At least she's adorable in her swimsuit.
Avoiding the spray.
"Do you want to run through the sprinkler?"
"Nooooooo."
That evening for family night we packed a picnic dinner and went to feed the ducks. Berkley found this activity much more enjoyable than the sprinkler.
The ducks didn't care much for our bread but Berkley loved watching them anyway.
Love those curls!
Berkley says hi to all animals. While we were there she kept waving and saying, "Hi cuck! Hi cuck! Quack Quack!"
When we leave places, she'll say bye to every person, animal, or thing while we're in the car. For example, "Bye bye grandma. Bye bye Rissa. Bye bye Rile. Bye bye goggie. Bye bye piano. Bye bye slide. Etc." So this time we put her in the car and she proceeded to repeat, "Bye bye cucks."
