It's Definitely A...

...stubborn little baby! This kid likes to sit cross-legged. Even though it wiggled a lot, it wouldn't move its feet out of the way so it's still an "it" for now. It does have nice feet though, ten toes and everything! I have a screening ultrasound on September 10th so hopefully we'll have better luck then! Here are some updated belly pics:

It's definitely getting bigger but I still haven't "popped" yet so I don't look pregnant to people who don't know me. It'll come though, I'm sure of that!

Meanwhile, I've been able to feel the baby move this whole month and it's the coolest feeling ever! Zack has even felt it kick a couple times now! It's kind of weird to think that there is a little human wiggling around inside me, ok really weird, but I'm kind of getting used to it.

I'll let you all know what we find out on the 10th!

The Boy Who Cried Wolf

Those of you who get to be around us a lot know that we often make announcements that we're pregnant. Our families have just learned to ignore these comments because they were obviously never true... until now! That's right, we're having a baby for real this time! (My Mom even thought the ultrasound was fake at first and that it was another trick!) I'm due the end of January and we get to find out what it is on the 25th of this month! I'll try to figure out how to make a poll so everyone can guess the gender. I'm curious to see what you guys think! (Zack and I both think differently so we'll find out who's right!) Anyway, we're taking "baby bump" pictures every 2 weeks so here are the first couple:

Pioneer Day

In Utah, July 24th is a holiday because it's the day Utah was founded. Basically, everyone just gets work off and there are some parades and fireworks. We spent the beginning of the day boating with some friends, then we went to Grandpa Morby's for swimming and a bbq. The pool had warmed up pretty good so we swam. After that we went to an Ogden Raptors game. They are a D-league team I think. It was pretty fun besides the annoying family in front of us and the Raptors beat the Casper Ghosts from Wyoming.

We had some yummy dippin dots and they provided a pretty good firework show afterward. They were lighting the firworks in the field so they were really close and we got a lot of ashes sprinkled on us.

22/Heaton Reunion

July 18th was my 22nd birthday and it just so happened to be the big Heaton reunion (My Dad's Mom and her siblings.) This was one of those reunions where you don't know most of the people because they're so distantly related. It was fun to see our closer relatives though! Zack and I got to spend some time watching these cuties. This is baby Evan, my cousin Shannon's little boy. He's a dang cute baby!
And this is her other little boy, Buddy. He's the smartest 4 year-old I know. We had fun playing the Wii with him.
The reunion was at a park in Bountiful where we had lunch and visited. The main attraction was the giant 48 foot slip n' slide though! It was actually an old billboard sign that my Aunt bought for only $25. The kids were entertained by this all day long! Here's my cousin McKenna sliding down.

We also played some rounds of ladder golf (also called by other names.) Here's Great Uncle Eldred taking a shot at it.

We also played some water-balloon volleyball, there were crafts for the kids, and Zack and Trent played some basketball. It was the hottest day of the year so far and toward the end we couldn't stand it anymore so we went for it. Here I'm trying to get some speed down the slide and Misty is behind me making "water angels."

We started a trend because after we went, all the adults started going! Shannon, Uncle Dale and Aunt Debbie, Aunt Patti, and even Great Uncle Eldred went down.

After the reunion I was pretty tired and didn't really want to go out to eat so we ordered some birthday pizza, watched a movie, and ended the night with some Neilsen's frozen custard.

The next day was Sunday and we went to Zack's family's house and opened some more presents so here is a picture of that.

Schvaneveldt Reunion

That's my mother-in-law's maiden name. Pretty sweet huh? For this reunion we all went to the Hogle Zoo on Saturday, July 11th. It was fun and pretty laid back. The different families basically split up and roamed as we pleased. No matching shirts required. Of course we had to get a picture comparing me to an orangutan.

I've never seen a giraffe sitting down before. Just last week one of the giraffes had a baby. I'm willing to bet it was this one. I don't blame it for wanting to rest, that baby weighed 110 lbs!

It was the perfect day for the zoo, nice and overcast. Afterward, we went to Zack's Aunt Cindy's house and had a bbq. It was a good day.

A Day at the Lake

The weekend after the 4th, my family decided to spend some time at my grandparents' condo at Bear Lake. It's a summer tradition after all. So we went up on Friday the 10th and spent the day. One of my favorite things is when you turn the corner coming out of Logan Canyon and see the clear, blue water.

Independence Day

Don't worry, we're still alive. I just enjoy going 3 months between posts. We had a fun, traditional 4th of July weekend. Most people had work off on the 3rd so we went to the temple with Zack's family and then out to lunch. That evening we had plans to go see Up and The Proposal at the drive-in with Zack's family. Well, here's the fiasco that ensued:

Zack's Mom, Lisa, read all of the drive-in rules online. One of the rules was that nobody could put furniture on the ground outside of their vehicles to watch the movie due to safety issues. We were fine with that and proceeded to load up the back of our truck with a loveseat and recliner (to remain in the truck bed). We put blankets, pillows, and camping chairs in the other truck. So Zack's parents went through first and when we drove up to pay for our tickets the lady wouldn't let us in because "they can't allow large furniture because there are too many violaters who put it on the ground." So they said we had to go home, take the furniture out, and come back. Yeah right. Meanwhile, they were letting people in with giant lovesacs (which apparently don't qualify as large furniture) and people were putting their lovesacs, camping chairs, and even the seats from inside their cars on the ground. So Zack's Dad, Drew, ended up speaking with the manager and explained that we would not put anything on the ground but he wouldn't budge. He said we could put the furniture in a nearby church parking lot and go pick it up after the movies (in the wee hours of the morning when we really feel like doing some heavy lifting.) So we left and got 7 Pounds from the redbox which was really good.

We started the 4th off with an amazing patriotic breakfast made by Zack.
He's all about presentation... pretty huh? They didn't taste too bad either!
We then headed over to the Morby's and Zack practiced some of his photog skills with the new camera.

We went to Grandpa Morby's for a bbq and swimming. Only the little kids swam because the water was so cold it might as well have had ice floating in it. This is when Zack was playing with camera settings and made his cousin look like a ghost.
