Bear Lake 2011

Every summer we go up to my grandparents' condo in Bear Lake at least once, maybe twice.  It's nice to get out of the desert heat into the mountains where the weather is just about perfect.  My family was there for a week in July so Berkley and I joined them for a couple days.  (Zack was working.)  This year was a lot more fun for Berkley.  She loved the park, LOVED her first time on the boat, and eventually grew to like the water.  And, of course, I took way too many pictures.

She was really hesitant about the pool.  She is clinging to me for dear life in this picture.
Misty thought she would give it a shot.
 No such luck.
Finally, Merrisa got her to like the baby pool.
Check out Merrisa's tan.  I guess that's what happens when you're a lifeguard.
We got to see our friends the Skanchys (plus Lindsey Southwick) who we haven't seen for WAY too long.  It was lucky we were both there at the same time!
Berkley had fun with Brighton (Jennie's little girl) who is just a few months older than her.
 The grandmas and their granddaughters.
 Mommies and babies.
The "troublesome trio of Kent" in Misty's words.  We weren't that bad but it was fun to reminisce about our girls camp memories.
Berkley wasn't too fond of the life jacket at first.
 The water was really high...
Actually, the water-level was exactly where it used to be when I was younger but it's been really low for the past 10 years.
Berkley kept pointing at the water and saying, "bath!"
I haven't been behind the boat for the past two years due to my circumstances so I was super nervous to go extreme tubing with Misty again.  Turns out I'm still hardcore.  We even hit a tree with the tube.
I wasn't sure how Berkley would react to the boat but she LOVED it!
My Dad turned 50 this year.  He's still got it.
And my mom isn't too far behind him.
Misty is the best skier of the sisters so she's the only one who got a good picture.  I was pretty excited that I popped right up on the slalom after 2 years though.
No, Merrisa did not land this.  Still looks sweet though.
By the time I got on the wakeboard it was too choppy to do anything cool so I settled for a wave.  Luckily we've had some awesome water at Willard since then so I've been able to get some little hops in.
You can't go to Bear Lake without having shakes from LaBeau's.
Although Berkley loved the boating and eventually the pool, I think her favorite part was being with my family the whole time.  There was always something to do and somebody to play with.  She kept asking for them after we got home.
Just before going home we tried the pool again.  She was much more enthusiastic about it this time around.  She was even ok going in the big pool with me.

Manly

The guys at Zack's work have this thing about being "manly" and who is "manlier" than who.  So Zack decided that in order to increase his manliness we should buy a truck.

Really though, that isn't the reason.  We started saving for a truck as soon as we bought our house because there are so many yard and house projects that require use of a truck and, frankly, we were sick of asking to borrow trucks almost every weekend.  (And I'm sure people were sick of us asking.) So, in July, we purchased this little beauty.
We decided on a toyota because they are super reliable and because our garage is too small to fit a full-size truck.  The four doors are awesome for carseat usage but most importantly, now Zack feels manly while he drives around.
