A Name and a Blessing

Last Sunday, March 28th, Zack was able to bless Berkley. Here she is all ready for her special day.

She wore my blessing dress that's almost 23 years old.

Even the smallest shoes are still too big on her.

Happy girl. She was so happy the entire time and didn't make a peep during the blessing.

Yes I painted her little nails and yes it was difficult but they were so dang cute.

Two Months

Berkley turned two months on March 21st. Here are her two month monkey pictures.

 She looks really scared in this one haha!

Her favorite thing to do is watch her mobile. She'll just lay there and smile and squeal and kick forever.

I left the room for two minutes and came back to find her sleeping like this.

She likes her new gym thing but she doesn't quite know how to hit the hanging toys yet.

She went to the doctor on the 25th. Here are her stats:
head circumference 15 1/4in- 50th percentile (2 weeks- 14in)
weight 11lbs- 50th percentile (birth- 7lbs 1oz)
length 22in- 25th percentile (birth- 20in)

So she's pretty much average, just short like her mom. She also got her shots and screamed a lot. She was a little grumpier than usual the rest of the day but not too bad.

St. Patty's Day

We started off the day with some green pancakes (made by Zack, of course.) I was sort of expecting green eggs and ham but he said he won't make that unless he can make it look like the book. (Green yolks only, without popping them.)

We were able to watch Carson run in his track meet that afternoon. It was a beautiful day and he did a great job!

Later, we dropped the babe off at Grandma Leann's house so we could go to the jazz game. :)
We took frontrunner and tracks so we wouldn't have to deal with parking in SLC or crazy drunk drivers. We heart public transit.

The game was fun! Our seats were pretty far up there but that's ok. The jazz spanked the t-wolves and had lots of good dunks.

 We had some green beer... ok, no we didn't but we saw some.

The camera wasn't taking the picture and that's why Zack looks like he's about to wink...

Sorry no pictures of the baby. I did put her in a green outfit but it looked so ridiculous I couldn't stop laughing so I changed her out of it. Maybe next time.

A Picture Tag

I know everybody already did this ages ago but Amy tagged me to do it so why not.

This is when Zack and I had only been married for a few months and he still had his luscious, curly locks. (He cut them off in May as a Mother's Day gift to my mom.) Anyway, this day I decided to straighten his hair and flip it out. Gorgeous right?

Big Smiles!

Our little bug keeps getting bigger and bigger and more and more fun! Here she is making faces with mom at 6 weeks.

She started smiling at about 5 weeks but they were few and far between. Now she smiles all the time! Here are some of her first smiles.

 Sunday afternoon nap.

 I am going to invent diapers that go all the way up the back because I am so sick of this.

Seriously, if anyone has any surefire tips to get mustard poo out of onesies I'd love to hear them! I use shout spray but it only works sometimes.

She "furrows her brow" like this a lot. It looks like she's in deep thought.

Smiley girl! They just melt your heart.

Other things she's been up to:

-Developing the signature bald spot on the back of her head.

-Farting up a storm. Sometimes she rips some that rival her dad's! We don't know how those huge things come out of such a little body.

-She just got a new crib mobile and loves it!

-She likes to just lay on the ground and kick and squeal. I think she's goofy-footed (like both her parents) because she kicks the right leg at least twice as much as the left.

-She doesn't have kneecaps. (Haha, no babies do.)
-Being the first grandkid on both sides, she is quite sought after. Nobody can get enough of her!

She's starting to get rolls in her thighs and chub in her cheeks. It's sort of bitter-sweet to see her growing up. It makes me sad that she doesn't fit in her newborn clothes anymore and that she's getting so big. At the same time it's so exciting to see her smile and I can't wait for other milestones like consistently sleeping through the night, laughing, playing with toys, etc.

Through the Night!

Berkley slept from 12-7 last night. It was a miracle. Hopefully she makes this a regular thing because I really miss my sleep!!!

Walk It Out

I discovered this gem a couple years ago and thought I'd share. Some genius took this way old school music video to some lame song and put it to a rap song. I only wish the rap artist was cool enough to have this as his real video but, of course, it's the usual skanky women dancing next to pimped out cars and showing off bling. Gwen Verdon is amazing. I love her moves and so does Beyonce. There's a definite "Put a Ring On It" move around 2:15 that's obviously copied. The video was actually deleted from youtube so it was hard to find, and remember it's way old so not the best quality but so worth it.
