Club Indio: Spring Break 08!

In March we decided to road trip it down to Indio, California with some other couples that we tend to hang out with quite a bit. It was a fabulous trip!

We decided to stop in Vegas for a few hours on the way down. These are the lions at MGM.
We were outside the Bellagio for quite a while. You see, Zack's been to Vegas probably 4 times now and never seen the fountains for one reason or another. (High winds, too early, too late, etc.) While we were there I guess they didn't start until 8 pm so Zack got "bellagioed" again. That became the term for the whole trip. If somebody was blown off or didn't get what they wanted, they got "bellagioed."

There was a lot to do at the resort including shuffleboard! The Banburys taught us all how to play and we (the Morbys) ended up being the shuffleboard champs!
We also played basketball and ping pong and stuff but shuffleboard was the coolest!

We, of course, went to In-N-Out burger on more than one occasion. We found their secret menu online and felt really cool ordering from it. We love that place!

This was the view from our balcony. Our resort had one other pool area like this and a lazy river to float in! Naturally we spent plenty of time in/by the pool.

This was at Cici's pizza buffet, another eatery to add to the favorite list on this trip. (Mariposa in Palm Springs was also wonderful.)

We went to the flea market area one day to do some shopping. It was fun to look even though we didn't buy anything.

We liked these hair hats. There were a lot of old bald men trying them on. We found it humorous.

This was the sweet "brahma van" that took us to Indio and beyond. Thanks to Nate's dad for letting us use it! We thoroughly enjoyed it and it's 10 miles per gallon.

These windmills were everywhere outside of Palm Springs! They looked way cool!


A cool thing to do in Palm Springs is ride this little tram car that's hanging from a wire. It takes you up like 8500 feet to the top of a mountain.

This is inside the tram. It had windows all around and the floor rotated while you moved so everyone got a 360 degree view. It was a little scary but way cool!
Back in Utah again? Nope, just at the top of the mountain. We were a little under dressed in our shorts and flip flops. Also, Nate plays for the jazz. That's why he's wearing a jazz warm-up jacket. (No, not really. A bearded lady asked him if he did though. In her defense, he is pretty dang tall.)
What are we doing up here? This is the weather we were trying to get away from.

February to April

Now that finals are over and we're back from vacation I have a lot of time on my hands. I don't have a job right now and I don't have school again until June 9th so I reckon I'll be doing this a bit more often..

This was my early Valentine's Day present. Zack also built me a beautiful ladder bookshelf but I don't have a picture of that. Anyway, here's the story: Zack called me about a week before Valentine's Day and told me he found something he wanted to get me but he wasn't sure if I would like it or not so he wanted to tell me what it was. He told me it was a pink gun and he would use his left-over Christmas money to buy it. I was so excited about it I cried a little!
So here's my very own pink gun. It's a remington .22 and I love it! It was the only one in the store and a few other people had wanted to buy it so I'm really glad that Zack got it for me. He's great!
Before Easter was Spring Break but that was so great that it deserves a post of it's own so here's Easter. Zack's family came up the day before Easter to color eggs with us. These are the one's Zack and I did. His palm tree one is sweet huh?

My first time shooting my gun in March. It was fabulous! Side note: A few weeks ago I shot a shotgun and a handgun for the first time! I'm somewhat of a petite individual so the shotgun kicked me back pretty hard but it was fun. The handgun was a 357 and I'm told that is big. It kicked quite a bit as well.
Our friends the Banburys came shooting with us. Trey is holding our SKS assault rifle (yes, it has a bayonet!) and Michelle is holding our Ruger Mini-14 (an all-around favorite.)
One of the few nice days in April we had a car washing date with Zack's brother Mitch. These are our sparkling clean cars. Zack and Mitch both love Volkswagens and yes, our cars are twinners. Cute huh?

Well, the only thing left is our latest trip to Florida which also deserves it's own post so we're pretty much caught up! Yay!

Crazy Logan!

I just need to get on here and complain about the weather a little. Since I've lived in Logan it will usually snow a few times in March but warm up by April. Spring is beautiful up here. April is usually in the 70's. I've always been able to study outside for finals, ride my bike, wear shorts to school, etc. This year, I don't know what happened.

This is what it's been like this week: Monday, low 70's. It was beautiful. We had a ward bbq outside and loved it. Tuesday, almost 80! I did study outside for finals. Wednesday, beautiful sunny morning while I was on campus. Then I went visiting teaching at 2pm (yes, the last day of the month,) and it was snowing! Yesterday was almost 80! What happened? At least it wasn't sticking. Thursday (today), we woke up to snow on the ground and falling from the sky. It's May for crying out loud! I seriously am so sick of the snow.

The only thing that is keeping me sane is the fact that we're leaving for Florida tomorrow with my family and it's in the 80's there.

By the way, that picture of the jeep isn't from now... That was in like January in our front yard. You can see how we might be sick of snow and just want the sunshine to come back though!
