Although I have a lot to do today, I thought I'd share this funny little story...
Sometimes I tend to be a little ditsy. When Zack comes home and I say "Guess what happened today," he always knows he's in for a treat. Well, I thought this one was worth sharing. One morning in the beginning of May, Zack had gone to work and I decided to make myself a protein shake for breakfast. (My mom always made them for breakfast when I lived at home so I actually really like them.) I got out the blender. When I got out the glass jar part, the bottom blade part was already screwed on so I didn't think anything of it. I put the chocolate protein powder, some milk, yogurt, peanut butter, ice, and maybe banana into the blender. When I turned it on, I found that the blade part must not have been screwed on very well because everything started flowing out all over the blender and even inside the electric part and out the bottom! I, of course, turned it off. I screwed on the bottom tightly and I wanted to save what was left so I turned the blender back on. (Probably not the best idea since it was full of chocolatey goop!) After a few seconds it stopped working. I was hungry so I just drank the shake that I had. It was good. After all this, I had a big mess to clean up! I wasn't sure how to clean out a blender full of chocolate because I know that you should not rinse electronic appliances with water but really, what choice did I have? The blender didn't work now anyway so it's not like I can ruin it more. So I proceeded to run water through it until it was clear and washed off the outside as well. After it was cleaned out I did not try to turn it on because it was all wet inside so I set it on the counter on top of a towel to dry. I left it there for a very long time because, even though it was probably dry, I was just too chicken to turn it on. Finally a few weeks ago (at least two months after the incident) Zack decided to make a smoothie. Lo and behold, the blender worked good as new! Hallelujah! I was so happy that I un-ruined the blender and nobody was electrocuted!
Sorry I don't have pictures to accompany this story but I was somewhat in a state of panic and taking a picture was my last thought.

My Skilled Husband
I think I have the right to brag about my husband every once in awhile so here it goes...
For those of you who don't know, Zack has decided to go into the cabinet industry for his career. He currently works at a small cabinet shop in Willard called Timberwest Inc. It's a fairly new business and it's just Zack and the owner ,Brad, right now. This basically means that Brad does most of the bidding, drawing, and paperwork (he has been training Zack in these areas though), and Zack does almost all of the actual building. He loves this line of work and he is very good at it because he's creative and also a perfectionist. He won't sell something if it's not good quality. Ok, enough blabbering, I'll just show you how beautiful some of his cabinets are:
These ones are of a kitchen he built for a house out in Tremonton I believe. I like this kitchen a lot!
These ones are in a basement in North Ogden I think. The first one is a little kitchenette type thing and the second is an entertainment center. I think that wood is beautiful!
The last two are projects he made for me/us. The first is of a desk he built for our apartment, and the second is a "ladder bookshelf" that he made for me for Valentine's Day (and you can catch a little glimpse of one of the wall cubes he made for my birthday last year).
I thought we had more kitchen pictures on our computer but evidently we don't so this is just a glimpse but I think he's very talented and I'm glad he found something that he enjoys and that he is good at. He would probably be embarrassed if he knew I was writing this! Anyway, he's working on his business degree so that, one day, he will be able to run his own cabinet shop. I am very proud of him and if you know anyone in the northern Utah area who needs cabinet work done, let us know!
