Misty and I decided to do our hospital's fun run together on May 4th. So I started training in March. I used the couch-to-5k app to slowly work me up to running for long intervals. Here's a picture of my first "run." I started my training with the double stroller which didn't make it any easier. And don't let the sunshine fool you, it was only 33 degrees.

Luckily I have that trail right by our house so that was convenient. I started out super dedicated. We ran in cold weather, a terrible wind storm, and got rained on. About halfway through my training I got sick. Then my stroller got a perpetual flat tire that we couldn't fix. So that put a damper on things. I ended up skipping a few of the runs just so I could get up to 30 minutes straight. I was really nervous that I wouldn't be able to do it since I didn't do all of the training. Here's a picture of me after running just a few days before the race. Not too sure of myself.

But race day came. Misty and I ran together and our goal was just to get through the entire thing without walking. The hills were rough because we hadn't practiced hills but other than that it went really well. We finished in 32:40 and I was pretty happy about it.

The hospital did a great job. Not only did we get nice exercise shirts and lots of snacks but they had face painting, a bounce house, and a "clown" making balloon animals for the kids. Berkley was afraid to get her face painted until she saw Peyton do it.

Afterward we went to my parents' house where Zack cooked up a bbq feast.
I still don't enjoy running. I don't know if I ever will. My cousin Shannon told me you have to run more than 3 miles before you actually like it. Is it worth it?
